The Crooked Corrections Book Tour

Ottawa Small Press Book Fair

Ottawa, ON – June 23rd, 2018 Room 203 of the Jack Purcell Community Centre – 12 noon – 5 pm

  Good attendance at this years event resulted in some happy book enthusiasts being able to take home copies of Songs from the Slammer, The Human Kennel and Crooked Corrections. Posters and Poetry merchandise were also well received.

ICOPA 2018 – International Conference on Penal Abolition

London England UK, – June 15 – 18th, 2018

Ankle Bone Book Author Jeannette Tossounian was selected from a pool of presenters to attend this years conference, “Abolitionist Futures: Building Social Justice Not Criminal Justice” Jeannette did not disappoint the audience of her talk which was standing room only. The crammed packed facility heard Jeannette discuss content in her books and other relevant content.

Justice Report Card: In Conversation with Jeannette Tossounian

Canada is known internationally as a leader in social justice and human rights. Library staff and members of the general public joined artist, author and activist Jeannette Tossounian in a moderated discussion. Many great questions and engaged debate took place in this spirited chat. 

 

 


Indigo, Charlottetown, PEI – June 10th, 2018 – 1 – 3 pm

The Eight Atlantic stop on the Crooked Corrections Book Tour with Author Jeannette Tossounian was another smashing success. 

The author visited Indigo’s Charlottetown location in a town that was the birthplace of Canada’s Confederation in 1867. Jeannette signed copies of all three titles for fans and members of the public.

 

 


INDIGO SPIrit, SYDNEY, NS – June 9th, 2018 – 1 – 3 pm

This was the Seventh Atlantic stop on the Crooked Corrections Book Tour with Author Jeannette Tossounian. Great interactions with book enthusiasts. Indigo Spirit is located in Sydney, Nova Scotia. Jeannette was on hand to showcase her work in Sydney.

This was the First stop on the Crooked Corrections Book Tour with Author Jeannette Tossounian. The author visited 6 Atlantic cities in support of her final jail book, `Crooked Corrections`. At Chapters in Moncton, New Brunswick, Jeannette was on hand to read from her newest creation and sign copies for fans and members of the public.

Montreal Anarchist Book Fair

MONTREAL, QC – May 26 & 27, 2018

Crooked Anarchy should be the title of the Montreal Anarchist book fair after hosting Ankle Bone Books. One of the most talked about author’s and stories, Jeannette Tossounian was a huge draw and a top seller. No photos were allowed at the book fair this year.


 BOOK LAUNCH – CROOKED CORRECTIONS @ Octopus Books

Ottawa, ON – May 24, 2018

The much anticipated launch of the final composition of artist, author and activist Jeannette Tossounian’s jail accounts “Crooked Corrections” happened and it was amazing. The book was presented for the first time to friends and attendees at Octopus Books in the Glebe in Ottawa Ontario. It was a great night. Thank you to all who attended.

The Author of “Songs from the Slammer” and the much anticipated “The Human Kennel” Jeannette Tossounian had a successful presentation and sold her books for three days while displaying a large sculptural installation piece at the University of Winnipeg  May 9-11, 2016. Huge thank you to the organizing faculty members, students and academics from across the country who took the time to become acquainted with Jeannette Tossounian and her works.

Ottawa Jail: The Costs of Human Warehousing
